How long does the tour last and where does it finish?

Tour will take 2 hours and finish at Cafe Kotobuki, near by Imperial Palace Kyoto.

Where does the Free Walking Tour go?

We will walk around Gosho Minami area, southern part of Imperial Palace Kyoto. The tour ends at Cafe Kotobuki. After the tour, you can enjoy delicious lunch at Kyoto style traditional house,  and visiting Imperial Palace Kyoto.

What should I bring?

Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hat/cap, water and a lot of questions – we love those! An umbrella or rain coat during the rainy season.

Do you offer tours in Spanish, German or French?

All of our tours are 100% in English.

Because Japan is not a tipping culture, is tipping to the guide is rude?

All our local guides working very hard to provide the best experiences to you, and well deserve tips for their work. We appreciate your respect and gratuities to our local guides.

Can I show up without booking?

No. We try to manage group in an ideal size of guests. So please book the tour. Also, in some case, we send you email when we cancel the tour due to the weather condition.

I cannot book the tour. Can I just show up and wait for the cancel?

No. We take bookings including additional slots. But we open the last minutes booking one day before the tour.

Do you offer private tours?

No, unfortunately we only offer the open group tours available for booking on our website.

Why are there limited spaces for the Free Walking Tour?

We limit the group sizes for the Free Walking Tour for safety and quality reasons. Walking Kyoto with a big group is not a good idea, and our tour guide cannot offer a great service to our guests.
